by isleofman.com 1st November 2012

Lloyds TSB Offshore Limited has appointed a new chairman to head up the islands’ businesses of Lloyds Banking Group.

Tim Cooke, who has more than 30 years experience in the banking industry, has moved to Jersey to take on the role of Islands Director and will be working on both the Isle of Man and Guernsey on a regular basis.

Tim Cooke commented on the new role: “I am very excited about this new role as I will be working with some talented and experienced people in all three islands; it’s a unique opportunity to lead and develop businesses in three different jurisdictions at such an important time for the local economies.

“My appointment is a clear statement by Lloyds Banking Group that the businesses in the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey are an important part of the company, and I am looking forward to continuing to provide the excellent customer service and active support to the communities which we pride ourselves upon.”

Tim joined Lloyds in 2004 after holding senior executive roles within the banking industry in retail and corporate banking in the UK, the islands and Continental Europe. Since joining the company, he has built a credit portfolio management capability which prior to 2008 successfully shaped the Bank’s loan portfolio, and following the merger with HBoS took the lead in measuring and improving the combined portfolio.

A graduate of University College London, Tim writes regularly on military history and is a trustee of a number of charities with connections to the British Army. Tim is married to Sara and has two sons, James and Edward; he is also a freeman of the City of London.
