Strong leads for Manx Telecom at EiG gaming expo

by isleofman.com 29th October 2012

Representatives from Manx Telecom at last week’s 11th EiG Totally Gaming European iGaming Congress and Expo in Barcelona have returned to the Island with a number of strong new business leads. Manx Telecom Sales Director Fergal McKenna, and Corporate Solutions Account Manager John Dunne attended the expo with representatives from the Isle of Man Government’s eGaming Division. Fergal McKenna commented:

“This has been the most fruitful ever attendance by Manx Telecom at an eGaming exhibition and is testament to providing world class hosting and managed services solutions to some of the biggest global brands in this field. We’ve spoken with start-ups who have the Isle of Man on their location radar and those looking to relocate here from other jurisdictions. In these situations, sharing a stand with the Isle of Man Government’s eGaming Team allows us to complement the Island’s jurisdictional advantages with ours as a full service communications provider.”

More than 1,800 delegates from around the world attended the event which ran from 16-18th October. eGaming operators, suppliers, technology providers, and regulators were all represented. Leading eGaming businesses at EiG 2012 included 32Red, 888 Holdings, Betfair, Bwin, Google, Ladbrokes, Nokia, Sky Betting and Gaming, Sportingbet, The Sports Network, William Hill, UK Gambling Commission, and Virgin Games. Tim Craine, Head of e-Gaming at the Isle of Man Government’s Department of Economic Development, commented:

“I am delighted with the positive response Manx Telecom has received at EiG 2012 and this is further evidence that the Isle of Man’s reputation as a world class jurisdiction for e-Gaming continues to grow. The eGaming Team works hard to support our local companies at events like EiG 2012 and it is rewarding to see Manx Telecom is developing further opportunities that will hopefully add to their existing portfolio of clients in the sector. The eGaming Team’s ‘Team Isle of Man’ approach for attending exhibitions and events of this nature is working very well and demonstrates the excellent relationship that Government shares with its industry partners.”

Following the success of its attendance at EiG 2012, Manx Telecom is already looking ahead to more eGaming events. Fergal McKenna added:

“Manx Telecom is one of the sponsors at next month’s KPMG eGaming Summit at Mount Murray on 22nd November and we will also attend the Asian Gaming and Hospitality Congress in Macau 27-28th November and ICE Totally Gaming in London from 5-7th February 2013 – the most comprehensive trade exhibition in the gaming industry. Our eGaming client base is growing rapidly and is attracted by the combination of our core data networking capabilities and the managed solutions expertise delivered 24 x 7 x 365 by on-site engineers. These strengths, combined with our compliance with global standards such as PCI DSS and ISO27001 and our unique status as the only purpose built Tier 3 data centre on the Island, create a compelling argument for choosing a Manx Telecom solution.”
