Manx Gas launched its new online bill payment service on Saturday (December 10), along with a new internet showroom.
“We wanted to enhance the customer experience by making it possible to pay bills and order appliances at any time of the day or night from the comfort of your own home,” said Customer Services Supervisor Maggie O’Sullivan.
While customers can already browse the wide range of gas appliances using the existing online service, this new function will allow them to actually purchase products from manxgas.com.
Also at the weekend, an area of the showroom at Murdoch House, South Quay closed for a month for refurbishment. The foyer will, however, remain open with staff available to process bill payments, answer customer queries and offer advice on boilers and other products.
“We want to make it clear that while renovation is going on we will maintain our high levels of customer service,” emphasised Maggie. “Not only will customers be able to pay bills and seek advice as normal, but they will be able to try out our new website services.”
She added: “The showroom space is due to reopen on 9 January, 2012 as a dedicated customer service centre, open Monday to Friday, with more staff and therefore increased coverage for those calling in to Murdoch House.
“The face-lift is not just about improving the looks of the building. We’ve listened to our customers. They wanted more staff on hand to assist customers face to face and over the phones. These improvements to our customer service area will make this possible.”
Customers will still have the option to pay bills by telephone or in person during normal opening times by cheque, cash or card. They can also pay by direct debit or at any Post Office in the Isle of Man.
The new website functions, including the online bill payment and appliance store, went live on the morning of Saturday, 10 December at www.manxgas.com.
