Fun for all the family at Ramsey RNLI lifeboat day on Saturday July 2nd
Preparations are well in hand for Ramsey lifeboat day. The day will be centred in the area around the RNLI lifeboat station on Queens Promenade, Ramsey and will run from 11.00 am to late afternoon on Saturday July 2nd. An eager lifeboat crew, assisted by their families and friends, look forward to welcoming visitors to a fun day for all the family, raising much needed funds to help our lifeboats to continue saving lives at sea.
Highlights will include rescue demonstrations with Ramsey and Douglas lifeboats and the Isle of Man Coastguard; static displays by the Isle of Man Fire & Rescue service; Alistair the Ambulance; Manx dancers; pom-pom dancers; have a go kayaking with the Venture Centre; have a go radio controlled model boats with the Manx Model Boat Club; a Steam engine; rifle range; coconut shy; bouncy castle; face painting; live music; cake stall; bottle stall; miscellaneous games stalls; refreshments and barbeque throughout the day; candy floss; guest appearances from 3FM’s Kevin Ford and RNLI Storm Force’s Stormy Stan.
Throughout the day Ramsey’s volunteer RNLI lifeboat crew, operations team and fundraisers will be on-hand to welcome and chat with visitors. Ramsey Ladies Lifeboat Guild will also be in action with their annual street collection and flag day.
Regrettably, the proposed beach racing with the Manx Grass and Sand Racing Club and evening entertainment has had to be postponed until a date later in the summer.
