Staff at Friends Provident International (FPI) put the Age Concern Community Health and Advice and Training (CHAT) bus to good use by making it the venue for a training course. The charity hires out the CHAT bus for a variety of purposes.
The vehicle visited FPI's office in Castletown, so that the company's Learning and Development department could use it to host a course about commercial awareness. FPI staff were driven to Derbyhaven where the course to took place. FPI made a donation to Age Concern and is now one of the charity's 'Life Member' supporters.
The CHAT bus can seat up to 20 people and provides an alternative location for business meetings and seminars and many other uses. It features full heating and air-conditioning, disabled access, LED lighting, tinted windows, a lounge area, kitchenette and a private meeting room/IT-suite. There is also a seven-metre remote electric awning and outside seating.
Jonathan Hall, director and general manager at Friends Provident International, said:
"The CHAT bus is a facility which many businesses could make use of and our Learning and Development team found it to be perfect for their needs. We hope that more businesses will contact Age Concern to hire the CHAT bus for their own meetings and seminars."
Penny Creighton MBE, chief executive of Age Concern Isle of Man, said:
"I am delighted that Friends Provident International has recognised the exciting opportunities the CHAT bus presents. Its raison d'etre is to reach out to and connect with diverse elements of the Island's community and also to provide an environment in which businesses can think "out of the box" and, importantly, out of the office."
The CHAT bus has many uses and has already served as a mobile recording studio, off-site training venue and community centre, and is available for private hire. For more details email CHAT.Bus@ageconcerniom.com.
