The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy is the world's oldest and most thrilling motorcycle road race series.

And now a book, featuring more than 150 exceptional images, Isle of Man TT: The Photographic History documents the great riders and their triumphs, race action from the beautiful - but highly challenging - circuit and the fanatical crowds that flock to the races each year in their tens of thousands.

The book by Bill Snelling with Michael Scott and a foreword by TT race legend John McGuinness, was published last week hardback by Carlton Books, bringing to life the thrills and the history of the greatest motorcycle road race event in the world.

"Anyone who goes to the Isle of Man TT races year on year knows what a magical, iconic and unique spectacle it is. Quite simply, there's nothing else like it and not only is it the greatest motorcycle race in the world, it's, without doubt, one of the greatest sporting events in the world." - John McGuinness

"TT riders race the clock, their fears, their skills, at barely imaginable speeds. The only reference is the road. Almost 38 miles of it. And a story for every inch." - Michael Scott

About the authors:

Bill Snelling is a highly regarded Isle of Man Tourist Trophy authority and motorcycle historian. He is the author of a number of books on the subject and the custodian of a quarter of a million images of the TT and Manx Grand Prix races. He attended his first TT in 1960, making the Island his home in 1975.

Michael Scott has been a motoring journalist for more than 40 years, specialising in motorcycle grand prix racing. He attended his first TT in 1977 and has reported on every motorcycle GP since 1984. He is the author of several books including the critically acclaimed Wayne Rainey - His Own Story and MotoGP: The Illustrated History.

John McGuinness is one of the greatest TT motorcycle riders of all time. "The Morecambe Missile" took part in his first TT in 1996 and has since clocked up an incredible 21 course wins. The race legend has more Isle of Man TT podium finishes than anyone else.
