Isle of Man - IT & Communications

The Isle of Man's IT and Telecommunications infrastructure is world class, and often cited as one of the key deciding factors for businesses choosing to locate here.

Continuous investment in the last decade, combined with a strong relationship between the public and private sector, has resulted in a technological infrastructure which meets and anticipates the ever-changing demands of business.

Telecommunications

The Island's fixed and mobile networks are provided by Manx Telecom and Sure, who operate under licences issued by the Isle of Man Communications Commission.

Manx Telecom have recently launced a full 4G service, available to 95% of the Island's population, and was one of the first operators in the world to offer ADSL broadband to their customers. It was also previously the first in Europe to launch its 3G network.

Today the Island benefits from 100% ADSL2+ and 65% VDSL broadband availability.

Connectivity is provided by highly resilient fibre optic cables (owned by the Manx Utilities Authority/ Isle of Man Government), linking to the UK and Northern Ireland.

IT Services

The Isle of Man's businesses and financial centre are supported by a choice of service providers offering data hosting and storage, internet security services, full business continuity and disaster recovery facilities.

State of the art solutions are available for companies of all sizes, enabling the Island's business community to operate and develop with confidence.
