Last Night at the Proms

Rushen Silver Band and four-times Cleveland Medallist Mandy Griffin will join forces to perform a wide selection of Proms favourites.  Tickets are now selling fast for the concert, on Sunday 21 September, 7.30pm.

The programme will include many of the usual popular ingredients - the Radetsky March, Fantasia on British Sea Songs, Rule Britannia, Jerusalem and Pomp and Circumstance as well as a first half including music by Goff Richards, Thomas Bidgood, Gordon Langford, WH Monk's Eventide arranged by the Band's Musical Director John Kinley, and the finale of Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture - hopefully with cannons too!

The concert will feature not one but two conductors - Rushen Silver Band's Musical Director John Kinley will lead the first half and Erin Arts Centre Chairman, Rushen Silver Band Vice President and renowned conductor John Bethell MBE will take over the baton for the second half.

As well as all these treats one of the Island's favourite mezzo-sopranos, Cleveland Medallist Mandy Griffin, will perform the delightful Elgar Sea Pictures with Graham Kirkland (piano).

Band Chairman Tom Sinden added: "This promises to be a really fun concert with great music and plenty of opportunity for the traditional light-hearted audience participation.

We are delighted to welcome our special guests Mandy Griffin and John Bethell for the evening too.

Tickets are selling fast and we encourage everyone to book early!"

Tickets are Adults £8, Under 18's £1 available from the Erin Arts Centre Box Office  open Wed - Fri 10.30am - 4.30pm, tel 832662.
